Buky Campbell

Buky Campbell was born in Lagos State and attended Our Lady Of Apostles Secondary School Yaba before proceeding to University of Port-Harcourt where she studied theatre arts under the tutelage of the great Ola Rotimi. She attended The Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba Lagos where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and received a degree in Communications from Mercer University, Georgia, USA.

Buky made her mark as an actress on stage in numerous productions at the National theatre as a member of Anansa Playhouse, on the New Village Headmaster and numerous other NTA productions. She was a DJ and presenter on Radio Nigeria 3 Pidgin service and also Promotions Manager for Premier music Lagos before relocating to the US in 1994.

As the US bureau Chief of Africa Independent Television, AIT, Buky set up and managed the US bureau office of the station for many years. A registered broker for OPWDD (office of people with developmental disabilities), New York, and a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for the State of Georgia, Buky has been an advocate for many years and is passionate about mental health issues.
